SVE is an in-situ remediation technology designed to remediate soils impacted with VOC’s including gasoline range organics, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. This technology works by extracting a soil vapor from the subsurface at a high vacuum and remediate soil in the vadose zone.
The development plan for a former media manufacturing site impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and 1,4-Dioxane in groundwater included the construction of a large development in Westlake Village California. A feasibility study concluded that a pump-and treat system consisting of an advanced oxidation process combined with liquid phase activated carbon (LPGAC) was required. The follow-up work included preparing a detailed design, preparing NPDES permits for storm water discharge, process flow diagrams, layout diagrams, and process and instrumentation diagrams. A wastewater treatment process at a potato processing plant located in Argentina was experiencing continuous upsets with their activated sludge treatment system. A hands-on training program was implemented to teach operators to monitor and control the two existing biological treatment processes consisting of a low rate anaerobic wastewater treatment pre-treatment and an activated sludge treatment system.
To improve the performance of an existing water treatment plant, a sludge dewatering and anaerobic digesting system was designed and constructed. Continue reading
